Escher’s Knot

Known among the best Rock and Pop Bands and metal bands, Escher's Knot is a Metal outfit from Chennai formed in mid 2009. The rock band consists of Abijith (Ston'd) on vocals, Anshuman (ex-IIIrd Sovereign) on guitars, Madhav (Theorized) on bass and Manu (Blood & Iron) on drums. With influences ranging from Tool to Textures to Decapitated, Escher’s Knot caters to a unique blend of technical riffing and drumming, heavy bass lines and growls and screeches. Being one of the few metal bands to have cropped up in Chennai, Escher’s Knot has carried the mantle quite well with frequent pub gigs at Unseen Underground and college festivals. January 2010 marked a terrific start to the year with the band winning the Chennai Sangamam Festival and subsequently finishing first at IIT-Chennai's Saarang Festival. The metal band released its debut EP Tessellations in May 2010 at the Summerstorrn Festival held at Bangalore where it got an overwhelming response. International and National reviews from some of the best in the industry have been pouring in ever since. Despite their recent beginnings, the music band has had considerable success come their way having played alongside international acts like Dark Tranquillity, HammerFall, De Profundis, Cypher 16 and many more. Apart from these gigs, the rock and pop band has headlined some of the biggest college music festivals like MCC (Chennai), KIIT (Bhubaneshwar), BMSCE (Bangalore) to name a few. The members of band are currently working on new material for a full length album.

Escher’s Knot Band released a 6 track EP 'TESSELLATIONS' on May 14th 2010 at the 'Summerstorrn Festival' held in Bangalore where it got an amazing response selling over 350 copies in just 2 days. Apart from India, the songs have been aired in many International Radio Stations across Europe, USA, Canada and South East Asia.
